2023 Fruit & Nut Sale: October 4 – 30, 2023 

The citrus fruit sale has been a long-standing fundraising activity of the W-L Band. The Band also sells delicious gourmet Virginia nuts. All profits directly support the W-L Band’s spring competition, clinics and other band activities.

Fruit arrival and sorting

The fruit truck arrives from Florida at W-L on Thursday November 30th. All band and auxiliary members are expected to help unload the truck, count cases, and check quality. A pizza party at end of afternoon is provided by the Band Boosters. Parental help is welcomed on this day. Sign-up schedules will be available close to the delivery date.Fruit distribution starts immediately after the trucks arrive and are unpacked. Students and parents may pick up orders at W-L. Students assist with loading, parents help verify. Students will deliver in-school orders on Friday.Fruit & Nuts are also sold at the W-L Holiday Bazaar on Saturday December 2nd. Student and parent volunteers will be needed! Students who staff the Bazaar get credit towards their Spring trip.

2023 Tag Day: Saturday, September 9, 2023, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

What’s Tag Day? Teams of students from the W-L Band canvas designated sections of the W-L school district seeking financial support for W-L’s outstanding Band program. A parent driver accompanies each student team. It is called “Tag Day” because the students leave “tags” at each house promoting the fundraiser and sharing upcoming performance dates.

W-L Marching Band parents, your help is needed to drive students around for tag day. A signup genius for Tag Day help was sent out via the W-L Marching Band listserv. If you aren’t a listserv member, please sign up through this link.
