IB REQUIREMENT NOTES:
- A student may earn a bilingual diploma by taking two group 1 subjects (one in English and one in Spanish).
- Students may take up to two one-year courses.
- Students may take up to two exams at the end of their junior year.
- Specific schedules in grades 11 and 12 will reflect each student’s personal options.
NOTES ON VIRGINIA DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS:
- USVA History – IB History of the Americas (HOA) fulfills this Virginia diploma requirement.
- Economics & Personal Finance (EPF) – IB Economics fulfills this Virginia diploma requirment.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A FULL IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME SCHEDULE
- 6 IB courses spread out over the groups identified above.
- Level of courses:
- 3 higher level (HL) courses & 3 standard level (SL) courses; or
- 4 HL courses & 2 SL courses.
- Full IB diploma students must take one subject from each subject groups (1-5) plus a sixth class from any group. (Two IB Math classes are not allowed.)
- Virginia diploma requirements must be met (i.e. Economics, US History, US Government)
NOTE: IB DP courses are two-year courses, spread out over 11th & 12th grades.
