Meetings and Documents

The W-L PTA meets monthly to receive updates from the W-L staff and to hear presentations on special topics like school capacity, social media, and substance abuse. All are welcome and interpretation services are provided. Standing meetings are held on the second Monday of each month (except as indicated above) at 7:00 in the Annex (building next to David M. Brown Planetarium).

9/18/24 – Potluck dinner and welcoming of new families and returning members; introduction to PTSA board and committee members; updates from PTSA president,
W-L Principal Hall, and members of the school administration; vote to approve incoming Secretary and PTSA budget for SY 2024-25

10/16/24 – Jeanine Osther, W-L Instructional Technology Coordinator, presents on improving communication with families, Apple Classroom, Lightspeed Content Filter, individualized tech strategies for your student(s) and how to keep your student(s) safe on-line

11/20/24 – Freshman-oriented focus – Q & A session for freshman parents

12/11/24 – Holiday get together for students, families, and school staff

1/15/25 – College and alternative career and education pathways for post-secondary students

2/19/25 – Volunteer, internship, career exploration, and job opportunities for students

3/19/25 – 2nd Annual Ready, Set, Bloom Forum: Living My Best Life – The W-L PTSA student representatives and volunteers will host a health and wellness event to include a community resource expo and speakers presenting on various related topics to inspire healthy life choices

4/9/25 – Character Building: Tips on how to best connect with your teens and build strongrelationships; strategies to help guide them to form healthy friendships; and ways to be apositive a role model in your community.

5/21/25 – Welcome to incoming middle school students/families (Q&A)

6/11/25 – End of Year Volunteer Recognition Celebration and Potluck Dinner

Note: Topics may vary depending upon speakers’ availability and the current landscape of events during the SY.

You do not have to be a member of the PTA to attend meetings but you do need to be a member to vote during the meetings. You may join or renew at any time during the year by completing the WL EZ form.

Washington-Liberty PTA Bylaws

In addition, the PTSA hosts a monthly Hispanic Parents Committee Meeting which also covers special topics. Hispanic Parents Meetings are held the second Thursdays of each month at 7pm in the Annex Building. Parents may also join the Hispanic WhatsApp group by sending an email to membership@wl-pta.org.
