W-L HS Centennial

First known unofficially as “the central high school,” Arlington’s oldest high school opened in 1924. Formerly “Washington-Lee” from 1925 through 2019, Washington-Liberty High School continues the school’s legacy. W-L’s centennial year begins fall 2024 and lasts through fall 2025.

11/09/24 – W-L has a perfect 10-0 regular season record with the win over Wakefield. Fittingly, 10-0 also spells out “100” for the school’s Centennial year and also the football team’s 100th year. The program began in September 1925. The last perfect season was in 1956, with that team’s victory over rival G.W. for the Olde Oaken Bucket and the state title.
