AP Program at Washington-Liberty High School
Washington-Liberty High School is proud to offer an extensive selection of 20 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, providing students with valuable opportunities to challenge themselves academically and prepare for future success. These courses enable students to develop advanced critical thinking skills, engage with rigorous and in-depth subject matter, and experience college-level coursework while benefiting from the guidance and support of our highly skilled faculty. AP courses not only strengthen students’ academic foundations, but also enhance their readiness for higher education by fostering a deeper understanding of the subjects students are passionate to explore. NEW!!!! APS AP Exam Policy
We are pleased that your student has chosen to take an Advanced Placement (AP) course this year and want to assist you in planning for the AP exam, which will be administered in person, at school, May 4 – 15, 2026. Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, students will earn the additional quality point by successfully completing the AP course. Taking the AP exam is no longer required to receive the quality point. However, we strongly encourage students to take the AP exam(s) because they:
- Provide an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of college-level content
- May lead to receipt of college credit
- Help strengthen college applications
- Lead to greater success in higher education
Registration
- Students must register for an AP test by Friday, October 31. This can be done on the College Board’s website at AP Students | College Board.
- Students will receive a Join Code in class from their teacher from each AP course to use for registration.
- Requests received after November 1 may result in a $40 late fee, per test.
- Opting out of Exams:
- Students will have the opportunity to opt-out of AP exams from October 15 – October 31. A reminder will be sent to students and families.
Students registered for four or more AP exams will be invoiced for the cost of the fourth exam or beyond through MySchoolBucks by December. Find more information here
