West Point Leadership and Ethics Scholarship Winner

W-L Junior Saajan Chokshi attended the 2025 West Point Leadership and Ethics Conference (WPLEC), held on March 13th at George Mason University’s Arlington Campus.

This prestigious annual event brings together approximately 250 high school juniors from across the DMV region, each of whom has been nominated by their school for demonstrated leadership potential.

Throughout the day, student delegates engaged in a rigorous leadership and ethics workshop modeled after the United States Military Academy’s ethical decision-making framework. The conference is designed to cultivate leaders of character by encouraging critical thinking, moral reasoning, and principled decision-making.

The program followed a two-part structure. First, participants took part in interactive workshops, breakout sessions, and scenario-based exercises, all intended to challenge and refine their leadership capabilities. Second, students were equipped with strategies and tools to bring these lessons back to their schools and communities, empowering them to become peer mentors and ethical leaders. At the conclusion of the event, WPLEC facilitators selected 36 standout participants based on their performance, engagement, and insights throughout the day. Saajan was among those chosen for this distinction. These students were subsequently invited to complete a capstone assignment, an essay applying the ethical decision-making model to a real-world scenario.

From this elite group, only six students were awarded scholarships for their exceptional submissions. Saajan was honored as one of these scholarship recipients, further distinguishing himself from among his peers.
