NOTICE: Student – Athlete Registration

The Student Activities Office is gearing up for the 2023 – 2024 seasons. Fall Sports for some begin in July and we want you to be aware of the process for participating in sports at W-L…

Our Fall Sports include:

Cheer tryouts begin July 31 – Aug. 3 (6 – 9pm)

Cross Country practices begin August 7 (3:45 – 5:15pm)

Dance practices will begin after school starts.

Field Hockey tryouts begin July 31 (6:30 – 9am then again 6:30 – 8:30pm)

Football tryouts begin July 31 (3:30pm)

Golf tryouts begin July 27

Volleyball tryouts begin TBD

In order to try-out and/or participate on an athletic team including tryouts and out of season green days,  students must be cleared.   Athletic clearance includes updated RSchool registration and current annual VHSL physical/Doctor’s clearance (Page 3).

Rschool Registration process includes the following documents to review, complete or upload (see video and helpful hints below):

• Complete online the VHSL Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Health History/ Insurance/ Emergency Information (online forms)
• Upload Physical Examination (dated after May 1, 2023, signed, and stamped)
• Upload Vaccination Card (if applicable)
• Include Health Insurance Information
• Sign online the Arlington Public Schools Athletic/Co-Curricular Participation Agreement
• Review and acknowledge online Information sheets on concussions

VHSL requires that all athletes must have health insurance. For those students not already covered, APS recommended student accident insurance is available for purchase. Information on this insurance can be found at https://www.apsva.us/school-accident-insurance/
