APS Celebrates Pride Month in June

This June, APS celebrates LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. It is a time to honor the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community, acknowledge its history, and affirm our commitment to sustaining a safe, inclusive environment for all.

VOICES OF OUR COMMUNITY VIDEO:

Watch as APS students and staff share their views on why Pride Month is important to them.

Recognizing Pride Month is important for several reasons:

  • Promoting Inclusivity: Celebrating Pride Month fosters a culture of acceptance and respect for all individuals.
  • Educational Opportunities: It offers valuable education on LGBTQIA+ history and issues, increasing awareness and understanding.
  • Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth: Acknowledging and celebrating LGBTQIA+ identities positively impacts students’ well-being and self-worth.
  • Building Community: Pride Month activities strengthen bonds and demonstrate our commitment to supporting one another.

We encourage families to participate in Pride Month events or be allies to LGBTQIA+ individuals. Together, let’s celebrate with pride, compassion, and our collective commitment to fostering an inclusive school community.Thank you for your partnership in making APS a welcoming environment for all.
