5K / Mighty Mile Runs Around Washington – Liberty

This past Friday, May 19, 2017, functional life skills students joyfully participated in the 5K / Mighty Mile. The idea of a 5K / Mighty Mile was the brainchild of fellow teachers: Ms. Emily Andrusko, Mr. Adam Moir, and Ms. Jenny Cook. The motivation behind the event was to provide life skills students the opportunity to challenge themselves physically, connect with peers socially, and represent their school with pride.

Numerous life skills classrooms from around the APS district attended and participated in the inaugural event.  W-L Students came and challenged themselves to run three (3) miles together and successful accomplished their goals. The turn out was a huge success with several students accomplishing more than their anticipated goals. A date has not been set for 2018 5K / Mighty Mile at this time.
