2024/2025 Funding Guidelines
The W-L Athletic Boosters raises funds from membership dues and donations, concessions and spirit wear sales, and sponsorships. We make grants to school-based teams for various items. The Boosters review grant requests on a rolling basis throughout the school year at monthly meetings typically held during the 1st or 2nd week of the month. Coaches make requests to the Boosters via the W-L Athletic Director.Funding Guidelines
- Funding priorities are given to:
- In-season activities over off-season
- Activities that serve the greatest number of student-athletes
- Sports that are relatively new to W-L and could benefit from additional support to get them off the ground
- We give careful consideration to balance our grant disbursements among all sports
- Our goal is to disburse as much of the funds as our budget allows. Recent grants have been funded 50% -100% of the requested amount
- We do not fund summer camps or camps held over the school breaks
- We do not fund team “swag” items, such as apparel, backpacks, and other accessories
- Some examples of what we have subsidized:
- Fees for tournaments, invitationals and developmental leagues
- Equipment (e.g., pole vault, items for rifle team, weight room)
- Fees and travel expenses for our coaching staff and trainers to attend professional conferences
- Hudl live streaming technology and associated fees so that W-L home sporting events can be broadcast for free via our YouTube channel @WashingtonLibertyGenerals
