Computer Graphics

This course is an exploration of Computer Graphics as a creative medium through the use of the industry standard software, Adobe Creative Cloud. Students learn the fundamentals of working with adobe software like Illustrator and Photoshop. Students will learn the design principles to help assist with their understanding of how to design their own digital art images

Students explore the principles of design apply creative problem-solving skills to commercial design problems that may include product image, logo design, product display, story illustration, page and publication layout. Students may use computer-generated graphics to produce completed works.

Computer Graphics 1 is an introductory course that focuses on learning Adobe Illustrator to create vector images and digital artwork. Computer Graphics 1 is a prerequisite for Computer Graphics II, III, and AP.

Computer Graphics II: Prerequisite: Computer Graphics I Students will continue to build on the design concepts learned in previous computer graphics courses as well as advance their Adobe software skills to create conceptual digital artworks.

Computer Graphics III: Prerequisite: Computer Graphics II This course will further expand on digital art skills learned in previous computer graphics classes to allow students to create designs that are digital fine art and commercial art focused. Students will learn advanced digital art techniques and will have an opportunity to explore a digital medium of choice to create a portfolio of work in your specific area of interest!

AP Studio Art: Computer Graphics: Prerequisite: Computer Graphics III (one credit + 1.0 quality point) The course addresses three major areas: high quality in the works; concentration on a particular visual interest; and breadth of experience in art production.
