Ceramics

This course focuses on 3D clay forms, including both functional and decorative works. Students learn a variety of hand-building techniques and are encouraged to experiment with different glazes and finishing methods. Ceramics 1 is a prerequisite for Ceramics II and III. A lab fee of $55.00 is charged for clay and glazes.

Ceramics II : Prerequisite: Ceramics I Students extend and refine abilities in ceramics production techniques introduced in Ceramics I with an emphasis on gaining some skills on the wheel and familiarity with various firing practices.

Ceramics III : Prerequisite: Ceramics II Students have the opportunity to develop a personal direction in functional ceramics and sculpture. Selected works of art carried forward to AP Art Studio 3 D Portfolio.
