AP Biology and Chemistry Students Learn Outside the Classroom

The AP Biology and AP Chemistry classes went on a field trip to the Phoebe Hall Knipling Outdoor Laboratory in Fauquier County in October. Students collected and analyzed samples of water and examined wildlife to look for indicators of a healthy biosystem. They also had a cookout with hotdogs & s’mores, fished, boated on the pond and enjoyed the wildlife museum.

The Outdoor Lab provides hands-on outdoor and environmental education to more than 9,000 students from elementary grades through high school annually. It is owned and operated by the nonprofit Arlington Outdoor Education Association (AOEA).
