Students Advance to VA State as well as Intel International Science and Engineering Fair

Congratulations to the following students for being nominated to represent Washington – Lee HS at the Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair; James Licato, Caroline Cunningham, Skylar Brodowski.

Furthermore, congratulations to freshman James Licato for earning GRAND PRIZE. He will be attending the “Intel International Science and Engineering Fair” in April. Licato constructed a sewage system to actively determine how many/how much pharmaceuticals and over the counter medications can be filtered from sewage water and in turn be dumped in the water ways and the overall effect of their presence on denitrification.
