Senior Experience

Senior Experience 2025 Dates:

Friday May 23, 2025 – Last day of school for Seniors who have satisfied all graduation requirements

Monday May 26, 2025 – Memorial Day (No School)

Tuesday May 27 – Monday June 2, 2025: Asynchronous Senior Experience Work – Seniors who have satisfied all graduation requirements can work at their job, volunteer, or complete a special project during the day. For each of these 5 days, Seniors will be required to log on to Canvas and complete one module per day, which will cover a variety of topics from a mandatory APS Senior Survey to financial literacy to reflecting on their time at WL.  Each module will take approximately 60 minutes. A Canvas invitation will be sent in early May to all Seniors.

Tuesday June 3, 2025: Senior Day at WL. Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal at 9:45am in the Gym.

Wednesday June 4, 2025: Graduation at 3pm at DAR Constitution Hall.

Change in Senior Experience Explanation:

Two dates determine the scope and nature of Senior Experience: 1) the end of AP/IB testing and 2) Graduation. In 2025, AP/IB testing ends Friday May 23 (with AP . Seniors must attend a mandatory graduation rehearsal on Tuesday June 3, and Graduation will take place at DAR Constitution Hall on Wednesday June 4 at 3pm.

Usually, the number of school days between the end of AP/IB testing and Graduation 15-18.  This year, there are only five school days. The sixth day is graduation rehearsal, and the seventh day is Graduation.

Because of this change, Senior Experience 2025 will look different than past years.  On May 27 – 30 and June 2, Seniors will be required to log on to Canvas and complete one module per day, which will cover a variety of topics from a mandatory APS Senior Survey to financial literacy to reflecting on their time at WL.  Each module will take approximately 60 minutes. More information about these modules will be released in May 2025.

If students log on to Canvas on each of these days, they will be excused from school.  Students are encouraged to volunteer, work, or explore internship opportunities during these five days – they will still have time to complete the Canvas module in the evening.

Students could certainly travel out of the area during this Senior Experience time. But, to avoid travel delays affecting attendance at Graduation rehearsal and Graduation, we highly encourage students to save travel plans until after graduation on June 4, which begins at 3pm.
