W-L Muslim Students’ Association (MSA) Held Clothing Drive for Turkey!

On behalf of the W-L MSA, I wanted to update you all on the coat/blanket drive we held this past Friday – Monday. Considering the very short window and quick turnaround, we were blown away by how much we received from the community.

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped: the W-L teachers who came in waves all Monday morning with bags of coats, blankets and tents; the custodial staff who made several deliveries of bags and boxes that were dropped off in the main office, MSA girls who sifted through, re-bagged and labeled EVERY SINGLE ITEM; colleagues and parents who offered to drive stuff over to the Turkish embassy—thank you ALL.

Please note that the Turkish embassy is no longer accepting clothing; however, they are still asking for donations of the following new/unused items (the drop-off is very easy!):

  • Tents
  • Blankets
  • Sleeping bags
  • Floor mats for tents
  • Foldable chairs
  • Heaters (220V compatible or with converter)
  • Generators (with 220V outlet or with converter)
  • Portable restrooms & lavatories
  • Shipping containers
