Senior Regional Orchestra Students Aiming for States

Congratulations to seniors Sarah Russell-Hunter, Max Herrmann and Sabrina Shuster for being accepted into the Senior Regional Orchestra on November 8 – 10, 2019. Henry Nissen and Lily Watson were also selected as members of the All-District Orchestra which performed at Wakefield HS on January 12th.

Only 44 violins were accepted out of nearly 150 students whom auditioned. Sabrina and Max were in the 1st violin section while Sarah was in the 2nd violin section. The group met for three days in November and performed Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slav and the finale from Mahler’s 1st Symphony under the direction of Dietrich Paredes of the Caracas Symphony Orchestra. Students who make this group are also eligible to audition for All-State Orchestra.  Sabrina has made the SRO all four years and was in the All-State Orchestra last year.
