May SOL Save The Date

As we speed towards Spring Break, please keep in mind that while April showers bring May flowers, May brings End of Course SOLs to students in grades 9-11!

We ask that during SOLs you avoid scheduling any appointments or vacations during your student’s scheduled day of testing. This optimizes their test taking success and reduces the need for makeups and retakes due to stress!

This schedule is for the SOLs only and IB/AP testing has their own schedule.

• May 6th- Reading SOL
• May 13 Chemistry/ Earth Science SOL
• May 15- US History SOL
• May 19- Algebra I and Algebra II/ US History and Reading makeup testing (for those with absences for illness, IB, and AP testing conflicts)
• May 20- Biology regular classes and small group testing for all Science SOLs
• May 21- Geometry- all levels and Science makeup testing (for those with absences for illness, IB, and AP testing conflicts)
• May 22- Biology Intensified and Math makeup testing (for those with absences for illness, IB, and AP testing conflicts)

Expedited Retakes will take place from May 27- May 30th. Students that do not pass SOLs and qualify for a retake with a score of 375 and above will be assigned remediation during the May 19-22 testing window as needed.

Exact locations and the May 19-22 testing school day schedule will be provided to families in late April and early May.
