IB Film takes Gold Medals at Arlington Student Short Film Festival

IB Film Students took two Gold Medals at the recent Arlington Student Short Film Festival this past weekend.

1. Best Documentary- “We Serve Too” Directed by Carolyn Bradley

2.  Best Audience Choice- CGI Stop-motion Animation, “See the World” Directed by Katherine Smith. Ms. Smith was awarded as the best film viewed by all the filmmakers and judges at the festival in attendance. She also worked on this animation for nearly five months and learned how to incorporate CGI for the first time ever.

Also another Stop-motion Experimental film nominee, “Shuffle,” Directed by Griffin Sendek won a Distinction Award for Cinematography. He was also a nominee for Best Editing and Best Experimental.

Also a new club started this year by freshmen, Malina Nelson, Girls in Filmmaking [GIF], won a Distinction Award for special category Best Romantic Comedy for “LOVe,” Directed by Malina Nelson, featuring Sophie Arth and Omar Bah.
