Generals’ Robotics FRC Team 8217 Competed in Finals!

This past Saturday, the W-L Generals Robotics FRC Team 8217 competed in the US First Competition in DC and we came in 13th place (out of 20 teams). This was the first time competing for many of our team members. As 13th place, we were not selected to go to the semi-finals but were asked to be an alternate (if anything happened to any of the bots). Usually, this is not necessary, but on Saturday, after we were half packed up and some students were already heading home, one of the judges came to us and told us to be ready. Even though we did not have half of our equipment, we managed to get a battery we needed through the Gracious Professionalism of another team at the event. Gracious Professional is the motto of US First. We ended up participating in the finals! We did not win but we were in it and we came home with some medals and some hardware. If you happen to see the following students, please congratulate them and encourage them as we compete again on the 26th;

Thornton Thomas

Yanson Khuu

Amina Luvsanchultem

Anujin Enkhee

James Lyuke

A special thanks to Mr. Gareth Hall, Mrs. Gracie Taylor, Mrs. Karen Weaver and the custodial staff (who stay up late with us) whom this would not be possible without your assistance.
