Music Programs Earn Back-to-Back Annual VMEA Blue Ribbon Award

The Washington-Lee HS Music Department was recently award the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) Blue Ribbon School after the Symphonic Band, Chamber Orchestra, and Chamber Choir all received a Superior rating at the recent District Performance Assessment for District 12.

The VMEA Blue Ribbon Award is the highest award given to schools music programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia and recognizes schools that achieve excellence in Band, Orchestra, and Choral Performance. With the superior earned by the Symphonic Band, combined with the superiors from the Chamber Choir and the Chamber Orchestra, Washington-Lee is a Virginia Blue Ribbon School for the second year in a row.
