Your $20 annual dues, when multiplied by 1,000 or more families, provide vital funding supporting the PTA’s work. There are two ways to submit dues:
Dues cover the PTSA’s core operations, but we rely additional donations to fund grants to teachers and student clubs for enrichment activities not covered by the school budget. We call it “No Sweat” because these donations eliminate the need for parents to do bake sales, sell wrapping paper, etc. Please include your 100% tax-deductible donation when you pay your dues. Donate here.
Washington-Liberty PTSA has an active presence on Facebook and Twitter. Friend us/Follow us and join in the conversations.
If you shop at Harris Teeter, please help us by registering and selecting Washington-Liberty as one of your designee schools for their Together in Education program. involved. Then, sign up for a HT Plus Membership, which gives you free grocery delivery, 2X fuel points, and other member discounts. Those who complete both of these steps will earn the PTSA a one-time donation of $20!
Ask your friends, neighbors, and parents of WL Alumni! You don’t have to have kids at the school to participate, and every bit helps!
Please sign up online at https://www.harristeeter.com/together-in-education (W-L code 3917 – you can link up to three schools). You must renew your signupfor the Harris Teeter program every year and also re-enroll in HT Plus (after Aug 1) for theschool to earn funds. Target, Giant and Safeway no longer have programs.
We meet monthly to get updates from the W-L staff and to hear presentations on topics important to students and their families. PTSA General Membership meetings will usually be held on the second Monday each month at 7:00 pm. (see schedule for details) Spanish translation will be available. You do not have to be a member of the PTSA to attend meetings but you do need to be a member to vote during the meetings.
In addition, the PTSA hosts a monthly Hispanic Parents Committee Meeting which also covers special topics. Hispanic Parents Meetings are held the second Thursdays of each month at 7pm via Zoom. Parents may also join the Hispanic WhatsApp group by sending an email to membership@w-lpta.org.
The PTSA coordinates activities such as the W-L Holiday Bazaar, Senior Boat Party, Staff Appreciation Lunches, and Science Fair that rely on parent volunteers. Look for notices on the PTSA website and via email. Please volunteer for at least one event this year. You can also reach out to our volunteer coordinator at outreach@w-lpta.org
Do you need contact information for a W-L parent, student, or teacher? The W-L online directory can be accessed at https://wl.schoolhouse.directory/. The directory is password protected and only PTSA families of current students have access. The directory database is updated each October.
***PLEASE NOTE — Due to APS new privacy policies, families must now OPT-IN for their contact information to be shared with the school. Previously you had to opt out. If you would like to be in the directory and to receive PTA emails, please OPT-IN on either the official school forms or ParentVue.
*** Returning families, use the user-id and password that you were e-mailed when you joined the PTSA (you can click on “need your password?”if you do not remember your password). Families who are new to W-L can receive access to the directory by joining the PTA. You will receive a welcome notice explaining how to set up access (if you do not receive that welcome notice by late-October you can e-mail the contact link posted at the bottom of the directory home page).
