Applications are due by December 10th in Ms. Bennett’s classroom, and notification of acceptance will be sent out the day prior to winter break. Please e-mail bethany.bennett@apsva.us for any additional questions regarding the application process.

Our meeting calendar has been set for the upcoming year! All of our meetings unless otherwise noted will be held in the Little Theater at 3:10- below is the schedule, it may change, but hopefully not.

September 24th

NHS Information for rising Juniors/ Seniors

  • Information for new members will be sent out in mid October, with a MANDATORY information session held on November 12th.
  • Applications to join NHS are due on December 6th, no exceptions will be made.
  • Students will be notified of their application decision on December 19th/20th- all decisions for NHS admission are final.

Selection Process

For the 2018-2019 school year, students in grades 11-12 with a 3.5 GPA or higher are eligible to apply. Qualified students will receive a letter inviting them to apply in October and attend a mandatory informational meeting. Applications are due November 15th and students will be notified of their status prior to winter break. Applications are reviewed and scored by a selection committee made up of highly qualified faculty members. Students and families of those accepted are invited to attend the Induction Ceremony in February 11, 2019 at 7pm in the Auditorium.
